The official competition of the KIA Cold Hawaii PWA World Cup 2014 ran right down to the wire as competitors endured a nail biting wait on the last day, which eventually saw the final of the single elimination completed in almost complete darkness, such was the race against time to gain a result for the fifth successive year. Even with the unfavourable forecast Cold Hawaii further reinstated its reputation as one of Europe’s gems of windsurfing, after allowing the sailors to still enjoy the North Sea waves on most days, even if no official competition could be run, highlighting the potential which Cold Hawaii holds.
La parada Nº4 de la Copa de Chile de SUP y Longboard StandUpLatino 2014 presentada por Corona será en por primera vez en Matanzas del 26 al 28 de Septiembre además de otra primicia: la primera carrera larga en río (Río Rapel con 6 kms o 14 kms para los pros) además de SUP Surf y Longboard en el pueblo de Matanzas.
At the start of the week we were asking if one of the previous champions would reign supreme again or if a fifth new champion in five years would be crowned, but as the end of the final day of the 2014 KIA Cold Hawaii PWA World Cup approached, everyone was left asking if anyone would be crowned champion at all.

The opening day of the KIA Cold Hawaii PWA World Cup 2014 saw marginal, starboard tack conditions, but that didn’t prevent the elite of the wave sailing world from producing a great display of sailing during the Super Session, which took place after registration, which was held between 10am-12pm.
